When I first entered the store, a family stood at the counter trying to place an order for flowers that would best honor their mother and grandmother. The family began overwhelmed, but I watched as Tassie Smith, owner of Flowers with Sass, carefully walked them through the steps of choosing the perfect arrangements. Tassie was thoughtful in all the details – highlighting the colors and flowers their mother loved best, while taking note of any flowers that she would not have enjoyed. This kindness allowed a grieving family to view these blooms as a symbol of celebration, rather than a symbol of mourning.
