Union City registered nurses (left to right) Crystal Broyles and Nikki Callins stand in front of the entrance to the new location for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. The department is now located on the first floor at the west entrance of the hospital. The area is more spacious, convenient, accommodating, and comfortable for patients. This move was prompted due to continued growth and new initiatives related to education requiring computer stations and interactive classes. The first day of exercise in the new area was Monday, September 17.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City (BMH-UC) is now offering a new technology that could improve early detection of breast cancer. Digital breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3-D mammography, allows a radiologist to look for abnormalities in more areas than the 2-D mammography. 3-D mammography is especially beneficial to patients with dense breast tissue, a family history of breast cancer or women who are regularly called back for additional tests.

Both Wes Kennedy and Michael Paul Miller insist nothing will really change. If it does though, the Union City School System will be prepared.
Kennedy, the director of schools for the UCSS, has given Miller – the Supervisor of Student Services in the system – the additional title of assistant director, with the blessing of the Union City School Board.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Department of Tourist Development announced $1 million in grant funds awarded to 84 organizations for tourism marketing.

The Obion County Chamber of Commerce was awarded $9,250 for marketing Obion County in state publications, printing of marketing materials, and for the Obion County Farmer’s Market tourism efforts.

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) announced its board officers for 2018-2018. The officers were elected by the membership at TCCE’s Annual Conference held in Clarksville, TN.

Lindsay Frilling, CEO of the Obion County Chamber of Commerce was elected TCCE’s President for the 2018-2019 year. This position comes after years of service in the Chamber of Commerce and economic development field.

Governor Haslam, Commission Rolfe Award ThreeStar Grants to Sixty Tennessee Counties
