On Monday, August 3, Governor Bill Lee visited Obion County. His first stop was in Union City, as he spoke to local leaders at the Venue at Center Point. He then traveled to Obion County Central High School where he distributed supplies to promote a safe and healthy school year. These supplies included masks, hand sanitizer, and cleaning supplies.

In 2020 Thunderbolt Broadcasting is celebrating three local radio personalities who’ve logged thousands of hours on the radio here in the Ken Tenn area. Jim Adcock has been in radio for 55 years, Terry Hailey for 53 years and Paul Tinkle 50 years. The three combine for 158 years working in local radio!

The COVID-19 Pandemic Child Care Payment Assistance program is designed to help support essential workers so they can stay on the job during the COVID-19 emergency. Through payment assistance and a network of temporary care locations, parents who work in specific occupations can access child care at no cost, during the COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency until December 31, 2020.

As Obion County continues to focus on the betterment of our county, we are honored to attend the 2020 Tennessee Retail Academy 201 program. This program will provide valuable information on how we can continue to improve our retail recruitment strategies. Retail is essential to economic development and we are honored to work with this program. The program has been moved completely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Obion County has joined the Retire Tennessee Program with the Tennessee Department of Tourism Development. This program focuses on highlighting the great retirement opportunities here in Tennessee.
