Children's Discovery Garden to open at Discovery ParkOfficials at Discovery Park of America are announcing the largest expansion that the park has had since it opened in November of 2013 with the addition of a Children's Discovery Garden, with an expected cost of over one-half million dollars.

"I'm excited," said CEO Jim Rippy. "I think this is one of the biggest improvements we have made," he added.

I-69 Project RevivedUNION CITY - Four years after Tennessee officials stopped work on an interstate project that would connect Memphis with Canada and Mexico, the clouds of dust swirling around heavy construction equipment here signal a stark change in state policy.

The Interstate 69 project is on again - but it's not being built to Memphis. At least not for the foreseeable future.

Under the leadership of Mayor Bennie McGuire and Margaret Prater, Vice President for Workforce Development for the Northwest TN Workforce Board, Obion County achieved certification as an ACT® Work Ready Community (WRC) in the fall of 2015, and was recognized at the at the 2016 ACT® Workforce Symposium in Nashville, TN. ACT WRC is a workforce system designed to assist sites and regions in developing their workforce pipeline to provide skilled workers for employers.

December brings lights, Santa and music to Discovery Park of America!UNION CITY, TN- If you spot a glorious glow in the cornfields Northwest of Union City, TN in December, head that way! Lights, lights and more lights are twinkling brightly all around Discovery Park of America. It's the second annual "Let it Glow Light Show" sponsored by the City of Union City and sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

According to Grounds Director John Watkins, this year's show is bigger and better than last year's show. "We have over half-a-million lights...about 30 miles of lights if you stretched them out end-to-end," Watkins said. "New to the light show are a couple of themed areas featuring Charlie Brown and Rudolph," Watkins said. And the drive through light tunnel is back, since it was a crowd favorite last year.
