Union City, TN – The City of Union City and the Half Marathon Committee have announced that Union City will host “Run the Rails” on October 30, 2021.
Run the Rails is a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 1-mile fun run event located in Union City, TN. Named after its rich history in the rail industry, this race day consists of downtown fun for the whole family while also providing an exciting course for experienced runners. While runners are on the course, friends and family can enjoy music in the park, food trucks, local boutiques, and specialty shops.
Run the Rails is a 13.1-mile route that starts and finishes in Historic Downtown Union City. The course will begin on Church Street beside the original rail depot that dates back to 1923 then leads participants through our historic business district and into our beautiful residential district. All proceeds from Run the Rails will go directly to downtown development projects that will continue downtown Union City’s mission of enriching the quality of life of all citizens of Obion County by revitalizing the economy, maintaining the historical charm, and preserving the architectural heritage of the downtown business district of Union City.
