Our adult leadership class spent this morning at the Obion County Mayor’s Office getting to know their fellow classmates, then headed over to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church to participate in a community poverty simulation!
About the Poverty Simulation
The purpose of the simulation is to illustrate the challenges of low-income households, and to familiarize participants with community resources that are available for assistance. This eye-opening experience challenged class members to find a new opportunity to serve others within Obion County.
Interested in Participating?
The class will be facilitating the poverty simulation for community members as a class project in December. Please reach out to a class member if you would be interested in participating! THANK YOU 👏🏼 to Greg, Selena & Magnolia Dozier for sponsoring our breakfast, and to the R&D Catering team for providing lunch! We also want to thank all of the volunteers that took time to facilitate today’s simulation + activities!
