The Obion County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that it has been awarded First Place in the 26–45 Officers Category during the Tennessee Highway Safety Office’s (THSO) 22nd Annual Law Enforcement Challenge.
The award was presented during the 38th Annual Tennessee Lifesavers Conference, held September 16–18, 2026, in Nashville. The annual conference brings together highway safety professionals from across Tennessee to share knowledge, recognize accomplishments, and promote initiatives designed to make Tennessee roadways safer.
The Law Enforcement Challenge recognizes agencies for their efforts to improve traffic safety and reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities in their communities. This year, 68 law enforcement agencies from across Tennessee submitted applications for consideration.
The Obion County Sheriff’s Office earned First Place among agencies with 26–45 officers, recognizing the agency’s commitment to traffic safety and its participation in activities designed to educate the public, promote safe driving practices, and enhance traffic enforcement.
The Tennessee Highway Safety Office determines Law Enforcement Challenge winners based on the highest accumulation of points within each agency category. Points are awarded for qualifying activities focused on increasing traffic safety in local communities.
The Obion County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Tennessee Highway Safety Office for this recognition and for its continued partnership with law enforcement agencies across the state.
The Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the citizens of Obion County. Through education, enforcement, and community partnerships, the agency remains committed to the shared goal of reducing crashes and helping ensure everyone gets home safely.
Congratulations to the men and women of the Obion County Sheriff’s Office on this outstanding accomplishment!
