In December 2021, a deadly tornado ripped through Obion County and devastated many homes, businesses, and families in its path. Sadly, our county also experienced a loss of life. Our Chamber of Commerce is honored to have participated in the tornado relief efforts that took place throughout our county and helped mend some of the brokenness left behind.

First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to the Obion County Fair Association for its Tornado Relief Fund, to the United Way of Obion County for its Disaster Relief Fund, and to the Samburg Relief and Kenton Disaster Relief Funds. We would also like to thank the American Red Cross for providing shelter from the storm and the countless churches that contributed food, clothing, and toiletries to those in need. Another charity that helped touch lives is Toys for Tornado Victims. Last, but certainly not least, we are grateful to FEMA for providing federal benefits to tornado victims and their families through its Individual Assistance Program.
