The Obion County Public Library has served the area since the late 1930s. The collection was originally housed in the courthouse and has moved three times since then and is now located at 1221 E. Reelfoot Ave.
For many years the mission of the Obion County Public Library has been to enrich the lives of the citizens of Obion County by providing them with a wide range of meaningful library materials and by offering helpful programs designed to meet the needs of specific groups of patrons. We continue our commitment, not only to continue in this mission but also to make our Library an increasingly significant and relevant part of the lives of our patrons.
The library offers study rooms for small group sessions, a mid-size conference room, wireless internet service, and a large meeting facility for rent to clubs, businesses, and community events hosted by the library and residents. There is a walking track that can be accessed by the side gate or through the library. If you live, work, or own property in Obion County, there is no fee for a library card. If you don't meet the previously listed requirements, a library card costs $20.00 a year.
If you are looking for a nice relaxing place to visit or searching for something for your kids to do this summer, the library is the place for you! Call 731-885-7000 with any questions, and our wonderful staff will gladly assist you!
