Tennessee Chamber Institute is designed specifically for Chamber employees to learn the “chamber business” from experienced practitioners of the art. It is designed as a two-year program and includes courses such as: Membership Development, Working with Volunteers, Communications, Non-Dues Revenue, Government Relations, Budget & Finance, Best Practices, and more! Institute is help in Murfreesboro at Middle Tennessee State University. Our Membership Director, Lauren, completed her 2nd year and graduated earlier this month! Congratulations, Lauren!

Governor Haslam, commissioner Rolfe announce 25 communities to receive site development grants

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced today that 25 communities will receive more than $9.6 million in Site Development Grants. We had a blast shopping downtown for Mainstreet's Downtown Spring Open House! Shoppers enjoyed food, shopping, and door prizes. What a fun way to start off the new season and promote shopping local.

Community members and legislators representing Obion County enjoyed breakfast and talking politics at the Annual Legislator's Breakfast held March 23. A huge thank you to Obion County Farm Bureau for sponsoring and hosting the event! We also appreciate Rep. Bill Sanderson and Senator John Stevens for taking time to speak at the breakfast. NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe recently approved nearly $25.5 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), which assist communities with infrastructure improvements, health and safety initiatives and facade improvements in downtown commercial districts.
