I-69 Paving Kickoff

State and county representatives, as well as Tennessee Department of Transportation members, met to kick off the paving of the new Interstate 69 Bypass in Obion County.

The bypass, which crosses over Highway 51, is a part of the massive Interstate 69 project known as “the last great American highway,” which will span from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. Three segments of the highway have been in development for more than a decade in Tennessee and will connect Fulton, Kentucky to Memphis.

Upon the completion of the paving of the 6.5-mile passage in Union City, there will finally be a working portion of the interstate serving rural West Tennessee.
