Packing Lunches For The Day

What better way to start your morning than with the lovely ladies at Trudy’s Kids Cafe in downtown Union City!

Trudy’s Kids Cafe is an organization that believes no child in Obion County should ever be hungry. Trudy’s serves free meals to children up to the age of 18 Monday through Friday. One thing that stood out to me is that they are able to serve breakfast, lunch, AND dinner to children. The employees deliver meals all across the county for kids to pick up as well as have a full cafe that welcomes you to eat, work on homework, use the computers in the cafe, and feel the love poured into the community each and every day. The hard work and passion present is noticed and appreciated all across the county.

While packing up lunches for the day, I talked to Trudy’s founder, Valeria Hyde. She started the cafe and named it after a dear friend that she met after moving to Obion County years ago. Valeria and her friend Trudy shared a passion for working with local food banks and Valeria felt that naming the cafe after her friend would be a great honor to her after she passed.

Trudys has a great mission and is an incredible asset to Obion County, TN. The sense of community that the cafe brings does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.
