In just two sessions in WestTeach, Beth McManus has already learned plenty.
Day-long programs focusing on West Tennessee agriculture and area entrepreneurship in the pilot year of the WestStar-created program have truly been enlightening for the Union City High School Spanish teacher.

From farmland and wildlife habitat to public parks, scenic vistas, historic properties, and more, we work with people to make sure Tennessee’s most important places aren’t lost forever to development.

2018 Ambassador of the Year: Recognizing a Chamber Ambassador who is a community leader who donates his or her time to Obion County Chamber activities and events.
2018 Board Member of the Year: Presented to the board member who put forth extraordinary efforts on behalf of the Obion County Chamber of Commerce.
2018 Young Professional of the Year: Presented to a YPOC Member that works in Obion County and has showed professional success and outstanding community involvement.
2018 Business Partner of the Year: Presented to a business or organization in Obion County who has gone above and beyond to be a community partner, be it donating time, money, or resources.
The Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute (CTLI) is an annual leadership development program designed to inspire and encourage more local higher education champions, foster innovation and promote statewide collaboration. CTLI helps its future leaders better understand the current postsecondary and workforce development landscape, learn from national and statewide experts, and develop meaningful benchmarks that will help strengthen the state of higher education in Tennessee.
Both Wes Kennedy and Michael Paul Miller insist nothing will really change. If it does though, the Union City School System will be prepared.
Kennedy, the director of schools for the UCSS, has given Miller – the Supervisor of Student Services in the system – the additional title of assistant director, with the blessing of the Union City School Board.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Department of Tourist Development announced $1 million in grant funds awarded to 84 organizations for tourism marketing.
The Obion County Chamber of Commerce was awarded $9,250 for marketing Obion County in state publications, printing of marketing materials, and for the Obion County Farmer’s Market tourism efforts.
Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) announced its board officers for 2018-2018. The officers were elected by the membership at TCCE’s Annual Conference held in Clarksville, TN.
Lindsay Frilling, CEO of the Obion County Chamber of Commerce was elected TCCE’s President for the 2018-2019 year. This position comes after years of service in the Chamber of Commerce and economic development field.

Governor Haslam, Commission Rolfe Award ThreeStar Grants to Sixty Tennessee Counties

Delta Leadership Institute Graduates 6 Tennessee Leaders Poised to Support Economic Development Efforts
PADUCAH, Ky. – The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) congratulates six new Tennessee graduates of the Delta Leadership Institute (DLI) Executive Academy who now have the tools to support DRA’s efforts to create jobs, build communities, and improve lives across west Tennessee and the Delta region.
